Writing New Voices: Kairn Klieman



Dr. Kairn Klieman is an Associate Professor of African History at the University of Houston. Her interest in the continent began as an undergraduate studying art history, and was reinforced through service as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She teaches a number of courses on African diasporas at U.H., and is currently writing a book about the history of U.S. oil companies in Africa. Karen Kileman is a featured writer in Voices Breaking Boundaries recently released book Homes & Histories.
